Three new BMW Crossovers heading to the U.S.
Posted by admin in BMW Cars on 09 27th, 2009BMW means business in the next 18 months as they are planning to roll out new models to get a stronger hold of the market. They will be pushing for their hybrid, some crossovers, and there is a big possibility of releasing a new sports car with a mid-engine configuration. BMW confirmed the following for their official launch: ActiveHybrid 7 , ActiveHybrid X6, the 5 Series GT, and the crossover compact X1 . The X1 will be marketed in the United States as a 2011 model. BMW is closely watching the price of gas which will be the primary factor that will dictate the success of the X1 as a niche vehicle against its competitions from the other premium brands. The compact X1 will be sold in other countries as a gasoline variant and a 4-cylinder diesel version. The U.S. models will only sport a gas engine with an option for an All Wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive setup. The sticker price of the compact crossover in the U.S. will be a bit higher as effect of the weakness of the U.S. dollar against the Euro. It is also attributable to the expected higher demand in European countries. Following the aggressive releases of the BMW units, the Mini crossover and a newly designed X3 are set to follow. The new Mini creation will be released on the earlier part of 2011. The name of the car has not been revealed yet but it will definitely have the option for an AWD or a front-wheel drive. The entry level Cooper will have a starting tag price at $29,000 while the Cooper S AWD will hit around $34,000. The new X3 will be in dealerships by the first half of 2011 as a 2012 model. The 2012 X3 will be assembled in the South Carolina plant in Spartanburg.

Posted by admin in BMW Cars on 09 15th, 2009Quite recently, BMW finally released a few details about the new BMW Z4, which made its big, global debut during the 2009 NAIAS. As you can see, the car’s new design takes on a classic roadster feel, and it is now offered with a very lightweight, electrohydraulically retractable aluminum two piece hardtop. This is a first for the two seater car. This design also serves to give the Z4 something in common with other BMW models. For example, check out the new headlamp and tail lamp, which are like those seen on larger scale BMWs. The car’s surface lines yearn towards an unseen but definitely felt target point. The cockpit has all kinds of amenities on the offer, such as an instrument panel and a center console oriented towards the driver.

Well, it is not only because BMW the brand rocks, but it is because of the fact that BMW actually cars about the hybrid cars that they produce. SB LiMotive To Supply Batteries: BMW Megacity Electric Car
Posted by admin in BMW Cars on 09 1st, 2009BMW, as you know is one of my favorite brands of cars – they come up with some of the best cars on the market, come on … we all know that. However, did you know that they are coming out with an electric car? Well, I didn’t until I caught a glimpse of this car … that does not look luxurious or at all BMW-like in my mind. However, the BMW Megacity Electric Car is actually supposed to be one of the coolest cars as soon as it hits the market. The reason for the hold up? Finding someone to supply the battery to get the BMW Megacity Electric Car running; that is what Bosch and Samsung SDI are for though, they are going to be the battery supplier for the BMW Megacity Electric Car. Samsung, which was already in the market to switch gears form cell phones, was certainly in the lead for making a battery for the BMW Megacity Electric Car. However, Bosch has come up with quite a few things and they are certainly going to make a hell of a lot of money on the BMW Megacity Electric Car – for it is going to rock!
